National Security Adviser Clarita Carlos expressed alarm over the recent incident between the Philippine Navy and the Chinese Coast Guard.

Carlos stressed on Tuesday, November 22, that the incident happened after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Bangkok, Thailand.

The official assured that the Philippine government will look into the incident.

"Nagkaigi na sila na wala talagang ganyan, yung mga girian diyan, yung mga bino-block yung ating mga sasakyan. Dapat wala ng ganyan," Carlos said during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.

"Mukhang hindi nakarating yung memo dito sa mga tao nito. Nakakabahala talaga iyan at dapat masusi nating imbestigahan iyan at gumawa ng kaukulang hakbang," she added.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Command (WESCOM) reported on Monday, November 21, that Naval Station Emilio Liwanag (NSEL) noticed a unidentified metallic, floating object near Pagasa Island.

NSEL personnel went to the site to investigate retrieved the object but a Chinese Coast Guard vessel, with bow number 5203, blocked their return to Pag-asa Island.

WESCOM said that Chinese Coast Guard personnel cut the towing line attached to the rubber boat of NSEL, and to the object, which they brought back to their mother ship.

Carlos said that the incident shows a 'disjunction' between the words and actions of the Chinese government.

Mao Ning, spokesperson of the Chinese foreign ministry, denied reports that the coast guard 'forcefully retrieved' took the object, which China identified as a wreckage from a Chinese rocket.

Ning said that the Philippines handed over the obect after 'a friendly negotiation'.
