'Deleter' bags major awards including Best Picture at the MMFF 2022

'Deleter,' a psychological thriller film about the horrifying experiences of being a content moderator, ruled the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal on Tuesday, December 27 at New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.

Directed by Mikhail Red, the movie bagged seven awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress award for Nadine Lustre, who made her big screen comeback, beating other actresses such as Heaven Peralejo of 'Nanahimik Ang Gabi,' Ivana Alawi of 'Partners in Crime, and 'Toni Gonzaga of 'My Teacher' for the category.

Other awards the movie received were First Best Film, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound.

The film 'Deleter' is a story that revolves around Lyra, a content moderator who became immune to the horrors of her job, of filtering videos from social media platforms that are disturbing.

However, her routine will be thrown off course after being related to the investigation of one of her co-workers' death, which haunts her increasingly.

Stars Louise delos Reyes, McCoy De Leon, and Jeffrey Hidalgo are also part of the film.

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual celebration of Filipino talents.

It is a film festival that runs from December 25 to the first weekend of January in the following year, focusing on Filipino films.
