Make some noise, Shawols as SHINee’s back!
SHINee, the 'Princes of K-pop,' made their long-awaited return to the music scene on Monday, June 26, releasing their eighth full-length album "HARD" accompanied by a music video for the title track.
The members displayed the other side of SHINee with their title single, a hybrid hip-hop dance song that incorporated genres such as boom bap, R&B, '90s hip-hop, and more.
"We go hard," as the lyrics go, portrays the 15-year-old group's evident resolve in music as they continue to take on hurdles and go forward with their own viewpoints.
The album includes ten tracks, including the anthemic pre-release tune "The Feeling," which was announced on June 9.
Prior to the release of the album, the group organized a series of performances in Seoul called "SHINee World VI: Perfect Illumination," during which just three members—Key, Minho, and Taemin—performed.
However, the group's leader, Onew, took a break due to health concerns.
Furthermore, "Hard" is Shinee's first music video after releasing the "Atlantis" the repackage edition of their 7th full album, "Don't Call Me."
Shinee debuted in May 2008 as a five-man band with the extended play (EP) "Replay" under South Korean Music Label SM Entertainment.
The group's popularity grew further with the release of their singles "Lucifer" and "View," which are well-known in the K-pop community for their experimental electro-pop sound and great stage performances.
