At least 11 areas in Cebu province were placed under stricter modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) on Wednesday, August 11 in order to contain the spiking of COVID-19 cases.

Under Executive No. 38 signed by Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia, the towns of Argao, Consolacion, Cordova, Liloan, Minglanilla, Oslob, Samboan, Sibonga, and the cities of Talisay, Naga, and Carcar were placed under MECQ effective 12:01 AM of August 11.

Movements of people in the areas will be limited, especially seniors and underage unless "emergencies or essential errands outside of their homes."

Hotels and resorts in the said areas may still operate, but guests and clients will be required to present a negative antigen or RT-PCR test results.
