Over 1k police deployed in Metro Manila on Labor Day

Around 1,100 police officers from the Manila Police District (MPD) are set to be deployed to various locations in the capital city where Labor Day demonstrations are expected to take place.
The deployment will cover areas frequently visited by protesters including:
- Mendiola
- Malacañang Palace
- United States Embassy
- Welcome Rotonda
- Supreme Court of the Philippines
- Don Chino Roces Bridge
- Department of Labor and Employment Intramuros
- and other designated freedom parks and checkpoints
Police presence will also be increased at convergence points including Don Chino Roces Bridge and Welcome Rotonda.
The MPD stated that the officers will be responsible for maintaining crowd control, civil disturbance management, traffic direction, emergency preparedness, and response, with the goal of ensuring safety, security, peace, and order in all protest areas and critical installations.

Various groups are anticipated to hold rallies on May 1st to observe Labor Day.
