The state weather bureau on Tuesday raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 in parts of Batanes and Babuyan Islands as Typhoon Goring continues to exhibit strength.
Based on its latest monitoring, PAGASA said the center of the eye of Typhoon Goring was at 180 kilometers (km) East of Aparri in Cagayan province.
Goring is packed with maximum sustained winds of 155 km per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 190 kph while it is accelerating northwestward at a slow rate.
The state weather bureau said the typhoon is foreseen to maintain its strength while it passes close to or make landfall in the vicinity of Batanes by Wednesday morning and afternoon.
PAGASA is also not ruling out the possibility that Goring may re-intensify and reach the super typhoon category again.

- The southern portion of Batanes (Sabtang, Uyugan, Ivana, Mahatao, Basco)
