After taking over as the country's 29th top cop for more than two weeks already, Philippine National Police (PNP) head Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. reshuffled certain senior police officers, including the top three and four positions in the force's leadership group.
Acorda appointed Lt. Gen. Michael John Dubria, chairman of the directorial staff, as the PNP's new deputy chief for operations, replacing Maj. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, who was moved as director of the Directorate for Plans.
Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Peralta stepped down as commander of the Directorate for Operations (DO) to become chief of the directorial staff, the PNP's fourth-highest ranking position, succeeding Dubria.
Estomo will be assigned to the Directorate of Plans, succeeding Maj. Gen. Bernard Banac, who will be sent to the Directorate of Information and Communications Technology Management (DICTM), succeeding Maj. Gen. Valeriano De Leon, who retired on May 7.
Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, regional director of the Police Region Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6), will take Peralta's place at DO.
Meanwhile, the changes went into effect on Monday.
