For the first time in his career, Alden Richards revealed his 'almost' relationships with fellow Kapuso actors Julie Anne San Jose and Winwyn Marquez.
The actor made the revelation during his interview with the King of Talk Boy Abunda in an episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday, where he was asked to name the celebrities he was linked to in the past that he almost had a romantic relationship with.
"Dalawa po, si Winwyn [Marquez] and si Julie [Anne San Jose]," he answered.
When Abunda further questioned why it didn't work out with Marquez, Richards said they were both busy with work at that time.
Back in April 2019, speculation circulated that Alden and Winwyn were in a relationship after the two were spotted together when the actor opened a branch of his fast-food restaurant franchise in Laguna.
He then talked about San Jose and admitted that he was to blame for why they stopped seeing each other at the time.
"I decided to mag-focus na lang po talaga sa work. Yun po yung inihingi ko ng sorry sa kanya… parang naiwan ko po siya," Alden said. "I never told anyone about this. ‘Yung part po kasi kay Julie Anne, ‘yun ‘yung pinakamabigat."
"When we we're doing Sunday Pinasaya, the time that we separated, ang tagal po naming hindi nag-usap. Seven years almost, ganoon po katagal," he continued.
Alden then narrated the moment he apologized to Julie Anne during their rehearsal for the now-defunct show.
"Nung kami pong dalawa na lang sa green room... I talked to her na, ‘I’m really sorry for all what happened. Iniwan kita and there’s no one to blame but me. May term po ako na ginamit… 'And I am very sorry. Sana mapatawad mo na ako'," he said.
"Okay po siyang kausap, and then, pagkatapos ng usapan, parang may relief po sa kalooban. Na parang for the longest time, iniiwasan ko rin po siya."
Richards then noted that he and San Jose have already settled the past between them and that they are now "very much good friends.";
In the same interview, the actor also revealed that he is not dating anyone at the moment.
Last year, Marquez gave birth to her daughter, Luna Teresita. According to the actress's father, Joey Marquez, the beauty queen-actress is already engaged to her non-showbiz partner, who happens to be her childhood sweetheart.
San Jose, meanwhile, is currently in a relationship with actor Rayver Cruz. The couple made their relationship public after they exchanged “I love yous” during the singer-actress “Julieverse” concert in November 2022.
