The camp of suspended Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Gerald Bantag on Thursday denied allegations that he stabbed two prisoners during his time as the head of the agency.

In an interview with CNN Philippines, Bantag's lawyer Rocky Balisong dismissed the claims made by the two gang leaders inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), who both filed charges against Bantag.

"I was talking about that yesterday with him and he said wala naman," Balisong said.

In an interview with the media, gang leaders Roland Guzman and Jonathan Cañete said the stabbing happened when Bantag summoned all 13 gang commanders to his office at 11:30 am last February 1.

The two noted that the suspended BuCor General was “very drunk” when they arrived at his office.

They said Bantag, who was holding a kris — a bladed weapon, approached them one by one.

According to Cañete, the suspended chief stabbed him on the chest while Guzman said he was stabbed in the hands.

“We’ll just wait for kung ano man ang reklamo na ifa-file sa kanya (the complaint to be filed) regarding that and we will take it from there," Bantag's lawyer continued.

Bantag has been facing murder raps following his involvement in the slay of radio broadcaster Percival 'Percy Lapid' Mabasa and alleged middleman Jun Villamor.

Sought for a comment, Bantag told reporters in a text message: "Andami nila accusations, sawa na ako sumagot. Patunayan nila na totoo."
