Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has been named as the top-performing mayor in the National Capital Region for 2022, according to the survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc.
The results of the independent and non-commissioned RPMD’s Boses ng Bayan survey released on Tuesday showed that Belmonte acquired the highest approval rating of 95 percent.
Meanwhile, Caloocan Mayor Dale Gonzalo ‘Along’ Malapitan, Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, and Navotas City John Rey Tiangco all had the same approval ratings of 90 percent and tied in the second spot.
Both Pasay Mayor Imelda ‘Emi’ Calixto-Rubiano and Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Santos Abalos Sr. were placed in third rank with an 89 percent performance rating.
Makati Mayor Abigail Binay and Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto both received 85% approval ratings and landed in fourth place.
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Buzon came in the fifth spot with 84 percent performance rating, followed by Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro with 83 percent, and Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano with 82 percent.
The eighth spot goes to Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian with 80 percent, followed by Manila City Mayor Honey Lacuna with 77 percent, and Paranaque City Eric Olivarez with 75 percent.
The Metro Mayors were assessed by their constituents based on their performance and delivery of policies, programs, and services.
The survey was conducted from Nov. 27 to Dec. 2, 2022.
A total of 10,000 respondents per city were asked about their approval or disapproval of their respective incumbent mayors.
