The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested two fugitive South Korean nationals while they were attempting to extend their tourist visas at the agency's headquarters in Manila on September 26.
Head of the BI's Tourist Visa Section, Raymond Remigio, reported that the two Korean nationals were flagged during routine database checks by an immigration officer.
The two were apprehended by the BI's Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) following a mission order issued by BI Officer-in-Charge Joel Anthony Viado.
One of the fugitives is facing charges for operating illegal gambling establishments, while the other is wanted for multiple fraud cases.
Both arrested individuals were taken to the BI's facility located within Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig, where they will remain pending deportation proceedings.
