South Korean artist and Blackpink member Jennie made her debut on the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of HBO’s "The Idol," led by Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp.
Jennie shared some red carpet time with her co-star and fellow musician, Troye Sivan.
For the old Hollywood look, the Korean singer chose a Chanel SS20 tea-length couture gown with white lace and sheer black off-the-shoulder sleeves.
Kaia Gerber wore the tulle midi dress for Chanel's spring/summer 2020 haute couture collection.
Jennie completed her ensemble with a black satin bow in her hair, multiple diamond rings on her fingers, and black peep-toe heels with bows above the ankles.
Lily-Rose also made an appearance at Chanel, wearing a sequin short dress from the design house's fall/winter 1994 collection.
Earlier this week, Jennie's fellow Blackpink member Rosé also made her Cannes debut, donning a sleek black Yves Saint Laurent gown to the red carpet for Hirokazu Kore-eda's "Monster," one of 21 films competing for the Palme d'Or at the festival.
Dan Levy, Eli Roth, Hari Nef, Suzlanna Son, Moses Sumney, and Hank Azaria also appear in the series.
"The Idol," created by Abel and directed by "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson, will premiere on HBO in June.
After being caught holding hands in Paris with BTS member V or Kim Taehyung, many anticipated that Jennie might appear with them.
aWhile their respective agencies did not provide precise comments, V was invited by Chanel to attend a separate event in Cannes, so a surprise appearance is still possible.
