MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed the visit to the Philippines of Her Royal Highness Princess Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, in line with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Philippines-Brunei Darussalam diplomatic relations.

According to the DFA, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna is undertaking a Working Visit to the Philippines on November 4 to 7, 2024.

“The Philippines and Brunei Darussalam share warm and cordial relations owing to historic people-to-people exchanges and a shared commitment to a peaceful and prosperous region,” the DFA said.

“The two countries continue to work together for stronger bilateral cooperation, especially in areas of tourism, agriculture, and defense,” the DFA added.

The Working Visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna is expected to build on the gains of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s visit to Brunei Darussalam last May 28 to 29, 2024 by “fortifying the close relationship between the two nations, particularly in the areas of culture and economic cooperation.”

According to the DFA, the visit to Brunei Darussalam of President Marcos, Jr. earlier this year led to the signing of agreements on tourism cooperation, maritime cooperation, and standards of training, certification and watchkeeping for seafarers, which are anticipated to positively impact growth and development in the region.
