The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Thursday issued two notices alerting Philippine aircraft pilots about North Korea’s launch of a satellite.

According to CAAP, the validity of the notice to airmen (NOTAM) began at 7:45 AM on August 24 and this will expire at 8:15 AM on September 1.

The agency said “North Korea will be conducting satellite launching activities in specific geographical coordinates” during the effect of the week-long NOTAM.

CAAP said several navigation segments are set to close but alternative routes will be provided.

It assured that no commercial flights will be canceled or delayed due to the activity.

Based on Reuters' report, North Korea will launch its latest satellite in orbit for the second time.

The satellite was supposed to be launched on Thursday but it experienced a problem during its third stage.
