Religious leader and founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), Apollo Quiboloy, was taken to the hospital from the PNP Custodial Center after suffering from an irregular heartbeat.
PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo confirmed that the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) granted the urgent motion to transfer Quiboloy to the Philippine Heart Center.
According to Fajardo, Quiboloy's irregular heartbeat may pose a life-threatening risk. He had first reported the issue on November 7 but was brought and admitted to the hospital the next day.
Fajardo said the court is requiring Quiboloy to complete a series of examinations, including a 2D echo, blood chemistry tests, and a stress test.
"Ang kanilang recommendation po ay ma-check po siya further to check kung ito bang kanyang kino-complain na pagsisikip ng dibdib ay maaari pong could lead to a more serious case,” Fajardo said in a press briefing on Monday.
It was revealed that Quiboloy had previously undergone heart surgery and had initially requested house or hospital arrest, but his plea was denied by the court.
The founder of KOJC is facing multiple charges of qualified human trafficking and child sexual abuse.
