Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Ezzedin Tagos got involved in a car accident while on their way to rescue Filipinos who got stuck in the ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and paramilitary forces in Sudan on Wednesday morning, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
In a statement, DFA Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega said that the car that Tagos and Vice Consul Bojer Capati were riding got rolled over twice while en route to the border of Egypt and Sudan.
The two officials managed to survive, he said.
