The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Tuesday launched a 24/7 complaint center, a platform where subscribers can report concerns and issues related to SIM registration.

In a statement, DICT Spokesperson and Undersecretary Anna Mae Lamentillo said they are expecting that mobile users might encounter glitches or technical issues in the process since the first two weeks of the SIM registration implementation is considered a test period.

“[W]e are already anticipating that there could be some difficulties because this process is new to both the subscribers and the PTEs [public telecommunications entities],” Lamentillo added.

Aside from reporting complaints, she said that subscribers can also utilize the center to give their suggestions on how the registration process can be improved.

“DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy wants the SIM registration to be done as soon as possible within 180 days, and he wants to ensure that the process will be as seamless as possible. That is why we launched a 24/7 complaint center so that concerns can be reported immediately and acted upon promptly,” Lamentillo said.

She said the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), an attached agency of the DICT, will be in charge of the 24/7 complaint center.

Subscribers can contact them through hotline 1326.
