A total of 16,150,926 mobile users have officially registered their Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) as of Monday, January 9, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Citing data from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), SMART Communications Inc. reported that 7,584,321 subscribers have registered their SIM.

Meanwhile, about 7,137,764 users have registered their Globe SIMs, and 1,428,841 registered for DITO Telecommunity.

DICT said the current total registered is 9.56 percent out of the 170 million SIM card users nationwide.
