The Department of Health (DOH) named heatstroke and dehydration as the most common health condition during the summer season.

"Kapag lumalabas po tayo, lagi po natin tatatandaan na magdala po tayo lagi ng tubig na pang-hydrate natin," health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said during the media briefing on Tuesday, Feb 28.

"Magdala tayo ng sombrero para po matakpan natin ang ulo saka magsuot po tayo ng light clothing so we will not really be affected by this," she added.

Heatstroke is caused by body overheating, usually as a result of prolonged exposure to or physical exertion in high temperatures.

Meanwhile, dehydration is the absence of a sufficient amount of water in the body.

Vergeire also warned the public about the possible conditions to experience when visiting resorts or tourist destinations including ear infections, eye diseases, diarrhea, and skin diseases.

"Maligo po tayo as often as we can and also kapag may nangagati na sa ating balat, magpatingin na sa ating health center para malunasan na agad at hindi na po makapanghawa," she said.
