The Department of Justice (DOJ) has identified a potential government official who may have assisted in the escape of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, with the two of her accomplices.
In an ambush interview with reporters, DOJ Assistant Secretary Mico Clavano confirmed that Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla had discussed the matter with President Ferdinand Marcos.
"Tinutumbok pa namin, it's almost at the end of the investigation. Nag-usap na po si Secretary Remulla atsaka si Presidente para pag-usapan yun at mukhang mayroon na silang tinutumbok talaga," said Clavano.
"We have to wait siguro few more days para maverify lang muna talaga yung information na 'yun para masabi na namin, ofcourse we will stay transparent," he added.
Clavano also disclosed that Alice Guo will face charges of money laundering, filed by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC).
