President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has issued an order that rearranged the administrative structure of the Office of the President (OP).

Under Executive Order No. 11 dated Dec. 29, 2022, but released only on Wednesday, Marcos renamed the Office of Press Secretary (OPS) to Presidential Communications Office and placed it under his direct supervision.

The Presidential Management Staff (PMS), meanwhile, was placed under the control and supervision of the Office of the Executive Secretary.

Marcos directed the PMS to provide staff assistance to various offices under the OP and assist him in establishing agenda topics for cabinet deliberation as well as facilitating discussion of cabinet meetings.

"For this purpose, the Cabinet Clusters System shall be under the PMS. The PMS shall also exercise administrative supervision over the Correspondence Office," the order reads.

The President directed the Executive Secretary to continue to "exercise administrative supervision" over all the offices and agencies attached to the OP and other executive offices.

According to the issuance, "there is a need to further streamline the administrative structure of the Office of the President as part of continuing efforts toward efficiency and responsiveness in the delivery of its critical mandates to the Filipino people."
