A father was arrested after reportedly hurting his three-year-old daughter while on a Facebook live stream in Cebu.
According to RH Sherwin Alfaro's report on Thursday, February 29, the now-deleted livestreams showed that the father, identified as Edilio Cuerto, holding a knife and threatening her daughter.
Another video showed him choking the child inside his taxi.
"Ayaw ko," the child said while crying and being threatened by her father.
The report said that the suspect intended to get the attention of his wife, Sheryl Escudero, who is an overseas Filipino worker in Europe.
The taxi operator where the suspect is working saw the video and immediately reported it to the Cebu City Waterfront Police.
Cuerto and his child were found in Naga City through the global positioning system (GPS), and Cuerto was arrested.
The child was immediately sent to the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 7 for psychosocial intervention.
Meanwhile, the authorities are preparing a complaint for violating Republic Act 7610, or the Children Protection Act.
The suspect denied he did not take any drugs but alcohol.
As per report, the victim's mother started working abroad two months ago.
