Motorists can no longer count on low fuel prices next week as their prices remain unchanged.
The following price list is from the Department of Energy-Oil Industry's estimate based on oil trading over the past four days:
Gasoline: up by P1.25 to P1.50.
Diesel: up by P0.40 to P0.60
Kerosene: up by P0.60 to P0.80
According to Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau Director III Rodela Romero, the maintaining price of petroleum products is due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
The most recent round of price increases has resulted in a net increase of P9.25 per liter for gasoline, P8.40 for diesel, and P1.75 for kerosene for the year thus far.
Meanwhile, according to the most recent statistics from the DOE's price monitoring, the current retail prices of gasoline in Metro Manila range from P55 to P81.75 per liter, diesel from P52 to P70.25 per liter, and kerosene from P74.04 to P84.04 per liter.
