Step aside Generation Alpha, the dawn of 2025 begins with the introduction of a new era, in Generation Beta.
Those born between the years 2025 to 2039 fall into the cluster of those who belong to Generation Beta or simply, Gen Beta.
This generation follows Generation Alpha (born from 2010 - 2024), and its beginning signifies the first generation shaped by an entirely different world. In comparison to the previous generations, Gen Beta will grow alongside the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and new technology.
McCrindle Research said that the name was derived from the Greek alphabet to signify how this generation will be raised in a “new world of technological integration.”
“For Generation Beta, the digital and physical worlds will be seamless,” McCrindle Research stated.
“While Generation Alpha has experienced the rise of smart technology and artificial intelligence, Generation Beta will live in an era where AI and automation are fully embedded in everyday life—from education and workplaces to healthcare and entertainment,” it added.
Additionally, they will be the first generation to experience autonomous transportation at scale, wearable health technologies, and immersive virtual environments as standard aspects of daily. AI will play a huge role in their formative years, as social interactions, learning, and shopping will be influenced by algorithms.
Counter to the influence of technology, Generation Beta will be raised by Millenial and older Gen Z parents. According to McCrindle Research, these two generations prioritize adaptability, equality, and eco-consciousness in their parenting.
Such values will result in kids growing up to be more globally minded, community-focused, and collaborative. Their upbringing will also highlight the importance of innovation when it comes to providing solutions to societal challenges.
“We predict Generation Beta will embody the balance between hyper-connectivity and personal expression. They’ll redefine what it means to belong, blending in-person relationships with global digital communities,” McCrindle wrote.
