Even without a running mate and a Senate slate with him, presidential aspirant Norberto Gonzales said that he is not running alone in the May elections.
"Wag niyong sabihin na nag-iisa ako dahil wala akong vice president at wala akong senador," said Gonzales during the Bakit Ikaw: The DZRH Presidential Job Interview.
(Don’t say that I’m alone because I do not have a vice president and a senator.)
Gonzales said that with the way he understands local politics, if one becomes president, then they will automatically have a lot of senators and a vice president.
But the most important ally among all, he said, are the people who will help fix society.
"Ang pinakaimportante sa lahat, ‘yung makakasama mo na magpapaayos ng sambayanan," he said.
(The most important of all are those who will be with you in fixing the country.)
"Kailangan ang iyong pagkampanya kasama mo na ang taongbayan, 'yung mga representate ng mga organized groups in society, dapat they have to be with you," he added.
(Your campaign should carry the public with you, the representatives of organized groups in society, they have to be with you.)
This is why he was not seen holding motorcades, caravans, and the like, Gonzales explained, as he said they went back to organizations representing the basic sectors of the country.
"Binuo namin muli ang aming mga liderato ng mga iba't ibang grupo ng ating mamamayan," he said.
(We formed again the leadership of different groups of our people.)
"Sabi ko, kayo [ang] kasama sa pagpapaayos ng lipunan at pagpapaayos ng ating ekonomiya. 'Yun ang makakasama ko."
(I said, you will be with me in fixing society and fixing the economy. They are the ones with me.)
Gonzales, under the Partido Demokratiko Sosyalista ng Pilipinas, is running without a vice president for the May elections. He also has not revealed his Senate slate.
