Employees in the government sector will be receiving up to ₱20,000 in service recognition incentives (SRI) and gratuity pay for fiscal year 2023.

This was made after President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. signed an administrative order directing government employees to be granted incentives for their service.

Based on Administrative Order No. 12, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin on December 7, the SRI is a one-time grant in the same amount, not exceeding P20,000 per employee in the executive department.

Among those entitled to receive incentives are civilian personnel in all branches of the executive, even the legislature, judiciary, government-owned and controlled corporations, and constitutional bodies.

Also included are members of the military and police, coast guards, and even fire and jail personnel.

Regular, contractual, under a contract of service, or COS, and job orders are likewise eligible to receive SRI.

Employees in LGUs, including barangays, can also receive SRI, depending on the financial capability of the local government.

Meanwhile, under Administrative Order No. 13, Marcos is giving a one-time gratuity pay of not more than P5,000 each for COS and JO employees who have already served four months, and the contract remains effective.

This includes COS and JOs of national government agencies, state universities and colleges, and GOCCS, even those in local water districts.

The two administrative orders, SRI and gratuity pay, must be given no earlier than December 15.
