Senator Risa Hontiveros requested the appearance of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor, Alice Guo on the upcoming Senate hearing on Monday, September 9.
The senator submitted the letter of request to the Regional Trial Court in Capas, Tarlac, in pursuit of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality’s ongoing aid of legislation concerning Guo’s ties with the POGO operations in the country.
She emphasized that the Committee sent numerous invitations to Guo, calling on her to participate in the past Senate hearings. However, with the latter’s defiance, the Committee cited her in contempt, eventually leading to the issuance of an Arrest Order from the Senate.
In compliance with the issued Arrest Order, Guo was requested to appear before the Committee in the scheduled Public Hearing on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
The Senate Committee chaired by Hontiveros began the inquiry on the illegal operations and activities in Bamban, Tarlac, and Porac, Pampanga. Among the people closely tied with the illegal business was the dismissed Bamban mayor.
