The House of Representatives launched a large-scale relief operation to assist those who are severely affected by Kristine, as per President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive.
The announcement was made by House Speaker Martin Romualdez on Wednesday, October 23. As part of the operation, the former facilitated the request for the Php 390 million cash aid's immediate release.
The cash aid will be distributed to 22 districts in the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and MIMAROPA. Through this, affected victims will be provided help through the House cash aid, in cooperation with four party-list representatives.
“We are making sure the government’s assistance reaches our affected countrymen as quickly as possible,” Romualdez said.
The Office of the Speaker, along with the Tingog Party-list are preparing 2,500 relief packs per representative. A total of 62,500 packs worth over Php 21 million will also be distributed to those affected by the typhoon.

Additionally, Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co is also preparing a separate relief mission.
Romualdez said that the districts covered by the aid include areas that were severely affected, and sustained extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods.
“We know how difficult the situation is for our fellow Filipinos, and we are here to help. We will ensure that these funds go directly to the recovery and rebuilding efforts in these communities,” the House Speaker said.
He assured that they will ensure that the aid is delivered promptly, adding that they welcome any additional support for victims.
