Alleged drug trafficker Jose Adrian ‘Jad’ Dera on Wednesday admitted going in and out the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) detention facility several times.

During the Senate hearing of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights, Dera told Senators that he was permitted to leave the detention six times.

"Magsasabi ako sa bisor [na lalabas] at ang bisor ang magsasabi sa hepe. Siya ang magsasabi sa hepe, sasabihin kung okay o hindi," he said.

When asked about who is the "bisor" he was pertaining to, Dera said it was former NBI Security Management Section (SMS) Security Officer Randy Godoy.

The high-profile inmate recounted that the first time he was able to leave detention was on December 10, 2021, to go to Manila Doctors for a check-up.

"Pangalawang po your honor ay dumaan sa infant para sa puso ko po. Kumain po muna [sa restaurant] tapos balik na po sa NBI," he said.

Dera said the third time he went outside was during Father's Day in June and the fourth was in Makati City where he was caught.

He also confessed that he was able to go out with NBI officers during the time when detainees had to transfer to Tagaytay City and Cavite.

However, Dera denied the allegation that he paid "hundreds of thousands" to go outside and obtain other special privileges while staying inside NBI cell.

He will be transferred to Muntinlupa City Jail Male Dormitory in Brgy. Tunasan as ordered by the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 204.

Dera is currently facing charges of corrupting public officials under Article 212 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC), while the NBI officers, who accompanied him, are facing violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and infidelity in the custody of prisoners.

The inmate is the co-accused in one of former Senator Leila de Lima's drug cases.
