President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has declared January 9 as a special non-working holiday in the city of Manila for the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

Under Proclamation No. 120 released on Friday, Marcos said "it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies."

The proclamation was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

The traditional Traslacion for the Black Nazarene this year was canceled but a "walk of faith" will be instead commenced.
