Senator Panfilo 'Ping' Lacson has invited his fellow presidential aspirant Sen. Manny Pacquiao and his running mate, Buhay Rep. Lito Atienza to join his campaign rally in Quezon City later this day in order to raise Senate President Vicente Sotto III's hand as their common vice presidential bet.
In a forum, Lacson said he is willing to share Sotto with Pacquiao should Atienza withdraw his candidacy.
"I’m willing na, gusto niyo magkasama pa kaming tatlo sa stage pagmagra-rally eh, pareho namin tinataas ang kamay ni Senate president,” Lacson said.
[I am willing to have if you want, all three of us be on stage during rallies to raise the hand of the Senate President.]
Lacson also invited Atienza to formally announce his withdrawal from the vice presidential race at his supporter's rally in Quezon City later in the day.
“Iniimbita namin, kung maari doon na niya ipahayag ni Mayor Lito na nagwi-withdraw siya,” Lacson said.
[We are inviting him to announce his withdrawal [from the vice presidential race] if possible during the rally.]
Atienza earlier said he is willing to drop his vice presidential bid if Lacson will withdraw from the presidential race. However, his suggestion did not sit well with Lacson, who felt insulted by the remark.
