Amid speculation about his future, NBA star LeBron James silenced retirement talks by expressing his continued passion for basketball.
During the ESPY awards ceremony on Wednesday, the 38-year-old basketball icon put any concerns to rest after receiving the record-breaking performance award for becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
"I don't care how many more points I score, or what I can or cannot do on the floor," James reassured fans and critics alike.
"Lucky for you guys, that day is not today."

He further emphasized his unwavering dedication to the sport.
"The real question for me is: Can I play without cheating this game? The day I can't give everything on the floor is the day I'll be done. Lucky for you guys, that day is not today," he said.
"In my 20 years playing this game and all the years before, I've never, ever cheated the game and I will never take it for granted," he added.
Last August, James solidified his commitment to the Los Angeles Lakers by signing a two-year contract extension, securing his place with the team until the 2024-2025 season.
