Former Senator Leila De Lima filed her certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) as a nominee for the Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Partylist at the Manila Hotel Tent City on Saturday, October 5.
The former Senator was accompanied by former Representatives Teddy Baguilat of Ifugao and Erin Tañada of Quezon. The two former representatives joined the former as the partylist's second and third nominees.
De Lima said in a speech during her filing that full dedication cannot be attained without holding people accountable for false prosecution and fabricated evidence.
“Justice is for all. Now about redemption? I have attained redemption, I have attained dedication. The truth came out about my innocence, the truth came out that these were all invented accusations,” she said.
However, she clarified that these are not part of her objectives in eyeing a House seat, as it will not be a part of her duties and responsibilities as a representative if she wins.
“I will be working for justice, but more for justice for everyone else. My lawyers will be working on the cases to be filed against my tormentors, against my oppressors. But, that objective will not at all affect the fulfilment of my duties if I win; Kung palarin ako na maging miyembro ng House of Representatives,” de Lima added.

De Lima served as a former Justice Secretary and Senator, and was detained for seven years over the drug charges filed by the previous administration.
She was released from detention in June.
