Gilas Pilipinas Boys suffered a 107-48 loss at the hands of Lithuania on Saturday, June 29, in the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup in Turkey.
Only Cletz David Amos, who finished with 10 points, scored in double-digits for the Philippine National Boys team that trailed behind by 63 points at most.
Amos made a basket for Gilas to cut the deficit down to 10 points, 23-13, at the end of the first quarter but the lead of Lithuania continue to grow, and balooned 81-36 before the start of the final period.
Arturas Butajevas tallied 22 points, and Kajus Mikalauskas added 15 points for Lithuania that never trailed throughout the whole game.
The Filipinos will seek to make a comeback and claim their first win in the tournament when they face Spain on Sunday, June 30.
