The members of the K-pop boy group EXO have successfully sent off their member Kai as he enlists in the military on Thursday, May 11.
All seven members of the group were present in sending off Kai, whose real name is Kim Jong-In, to begin basic training before serving as a public service worker as seen on the photos shared by fans and their official account.
The EXO members — Suho, Xiumin, D.O., Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, and Sehun — posed together with the 29-year-old singer-dancer for their signature greeting while also showing off Kai’s new military buzz cut.
Kai is the seventh member of EXO to enlist in the military. He is expected to be discharged in February 2025.
EXO members Chanyeol and Suho also took to Instagram to share more photos of them and Kai.
"Don't get hurt & come back safely," Chanyeol wrote.

Last week, Kai announced his military enlistment date ahead of EXO’s scheduled comeback. Following the announcement, Kai announced a free fan meeting to greet fans ahead of his enlistment.
Debuted in 2012 as EXO's main dancer, Kai has successfully sealed his stardom in the K-pop industry, often tagged as the "idol of idols" due to his outstanding dancing and stage presence.
He launched a successful solo career in 2020 with his album Kai followed by Peaches. His recent album Rover gained momentum with its catchy melody and choreography.
