With this, the train service temporarily covers the route from Recto Station to Araneta Center-Cubao Station and back.
“Mga minamahal po naming pasahero, sa kadahilanang teknikal, pansamantala po muna ang byahe ng LRT-2 ay Cubao – Recto vice versa. Maraming salamat po," an announcement at the station indicated.
Meanwhile, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) confirmed through a statement that a catenary wire at one station was damaged, causing delays in train operations across several stations.
Reports indicate that a catenary wire was damaged at Santolan Station in Pasig City.
LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernando Cabrera revealed that the damage is responsible for the disruption in operations across Eastern Metro Manila, including Antipolo, Marikina, and Santolan stations.
Moreover, train services at Katipunan and Anonas Stations in Quezon City were also disrupted.
Although the cause of the wire damage at the station is yet to be determined, the repair work is targeted for completion this morning.
