Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil has instructed police units to closely monitor armed groups that may attempt to disrupt the remaining two days of the filing of candidacies.
In a report by RH Val Gonzales on Monday, Marbil emphasized that the PNP is committed to ensuring a peaceful election process across the country.
Additionally, the PNP chief has intensified security operations in traditional election hotspots—areas known for a history of intense political rivalry.
Gen. Marbil reminded all police personnel to remain non-partisan, warning that any officer found showing bias or support for a particular candidate would face disciplinary action.
