Amidst the ongoing unrest of Mayon Volcano, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. provided reassurance to the public stating that the government has allocated sufficient funds to sustain assistance for those affected by the disaster.

Speaking at a trade forum in Taguig City, Marcos affirmed confidence in the allocated budget for the necessary expenses.

"I think in terms of the actual na gastos… alam ko naman may budget tayo dyan," said the president.

His statement came in response to Albay Governor Grex Lagman's estimate that the province would require over P196 million to address critical needs such as food, water, sanitation, healthcare services, and the establishment of temporary learning spaces.

President Marcos emphasized the government's commitment to meeting these requirements ensuring that all necessary assistance is provided.

In addition to immediate concerns, the president acknowledged the importance of addressing the long-term impact on education and mental health in the affected province.

He emphasized the need to address the schooling challenges faced by students and the well-being of children and their parents during this trying period.

During a briefing in Albay, President Marcos called for the development of a comprehensive 90-day plan to effectively manage the ongoing eruption of Mayon Volcano.

In anticipation of potentially escalating conditions, authorities have raised the possibility of evacuating up to 40,000 residents.
