President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. encouraged Filipinos to lead a life filled with meaning and purpose as they celebrate the "festive and sacred" occasion of Christmas.

In his message, the President conveyed solidarity with Filipinos around the world, highlighting Christmas as a vital aspect of the nation's culture and its people's cherished traditions.

"While it heralds the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior, it also marks the moment we experience the presence of God in its nearest and most intimate form, evoking gratitude, kindness, and happiness to one and all," Marcos stated.

"This makes both the celebration and significance of Christmas transcend the contraints of religion, extending its invitation of joy and thanksgiving to everyone no matter their background," he added.

Marcos remarked that as Filipinos look forward to coming home, reuniting with loved ones, and appreciating the blessings of the past year, he calls on all to focus on what truly matters: a life of purpose and meaning.

He also hoped that the vibrant spirit of Christmas would fill every household with love and peace, while deepening the appreciation for the strength found in faith and meaningful relationships.

"In our endeavor to build a Bagong Pilipinas, let us then emulate the light that led the wise men to meet the infant in the manger so others may see and experience the hope that the Lord Almighty freely offers to us all," said Marcos.

In a separate video message, Marcos referred to "Paskong Pilipino" as the most joyful Christmas celebration in the world.

He added that despite any challenges or difficulties, Filipinos never fail to celebrate, even in the simplest of ways.

First Lady Liza Marcos and Rep. Sandro Marcos encouraged everyone to explore the festive Christmas displays across the country and admire the dazzling decorations in various provinces.

Meanwhile, presidential sons Simon and Vincent Marcos urged Filipinos to visit churches and share meals with their families and loved ones during the Christmas season.

“Hindi naman kailangang magarbo dahil nasaan mang sulok ng bansa at anuman ang ating kalagayan, ang Pasko sa Pilipino ay pagmamahalan at pagbibigayan. Ang Pasko sa Pilipino ay pamilya,” Marcos mentioned.

Previously, Malacañang called on all government agencies to avoid extravagant Christmas celebrations, aligning with President Marcos Jr.'s request and in solidarity with the victims of the six typhoons that recently affected the country.
