As Filipino Catholics observed the annual Feast of Jesus Nazareno, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to confront challenges that test their resolve with faith and grace, while extending kindness and empathy to those in need.
The President highlighted that the Feast of Jesus Nazareno is a historic tradition rooted in deep devotion, reminding Filipinos of the strength that fosters unity and harmony in their faith as a people.
"Truly, the carrying of the Black Nazarene and His own cross reminds us of the great sacrifice our Lord and Savior went through in His life," Marcos said in his official message on Thursday.
"Moreover, it also speaks of the immense power and compassion of God who walks with us and hears our prayers, especially in our time of need," he added.

Marcos emphasized that the gathering of devotees in the streets of Manila reflects the Filipino people's strong sense of solidarity and camaraderie.
The President expressed his hope that the day would strengthen every devotee's bond with the Almighty and inspire a greater sense of purpose in serving others, whether they join the procession in person or spirit.
"I am confident that we are able to epitomize the example of the Nazarene in our daily walks in this world as hope bearers, peacemakers, and builders of society who will change their respective communities with one good deed at a time," said Marcos.
Today marks the annual Traslacion, during which the image of Jesus Nazareno will be paraded through the streets of the City of Manila as part of the celebration of his feast.
