President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. was in the province of Isabela today, June 10, to attend four consecutive events.

The first was the inauguration of the Cabaruan Solar Pump Irrigation Project (SPIP) in Quirino. It is the largest of its kind in the country, and was brought about by the Marcos administration's initiative via the National Irrigation Administration to bolster the agriculture sector's production sustainably.

The SPIP's solar panels, numbering upwards of a thousand, can accumulatively generate as much as 739,200 watts. Its two submersible pumps have an output discharge capacity of 12,800 gallons/minute. It will help 237 farmers in supplying water to 350 hectares of farming land.

From Quirino, the President headed for the military camp at Gamu to pay its troops a visit.

Afterwards, he witnessed the signing of the Connection Agreement between the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and the San Ignacio Energy Resources Development Corporation (SIERDC) concerning the Isabela Ground Mounted Solar Project (IGMSP) that will be built in Ilagan City.

Marcos declared in his speech that the project aims not solely to modify Isabela's energy landscape, but also to strengthen the national grid and advance into a "resilient and renewable energy-secure future."

It is hoped that the IGMSP, with an investment of P18 billion, would produce around 700 gigawatts of clean energy yearly. Its construction will also give an estimated 4,000 workers jobs, which would benefit the local economy besides their own families.

Lastly, the President oversaw the distribution of aid to farmers and fisherfolk in Isabela.
