Filipino vlogger and social media personality Mimiyuuuh has spoken up and clarified the love advice she shared in a magazine interview, which recently drew mixed reactions from netizens online.

Fashion magazine Cosmopolitan PH recently dropped an interview with its June cover star Mimiyuuuh wherein she was asked to give a piece of advice to a person who is struggling to ask her ex-partner to pay the debt he owes her.

“Diyan ka nagkamali eh, nagjowa ka ng walang pera. Ayan ang aking number on lesson learned, never-ever date anyone na walang pera,” the 26-year-old vlogger said.

“Actually, it matters. Dapat kasi stable ka muna sa sarili mo bago ka magdagdag ng tao sa buhay mo. You know what I am saying? Ayan tingnan mo ngayon, since nag-settle ka, ang laki-laki ng utang sa’yo,” she added.

Mimiyuuuh’s love advice went viral on social media platforms. Some people were irked by her words but many agreed with her, saying that this is just practical amid the high costs of goods and services in the country.

In a video posted on Tuesday, the vlogger clarified that her advice did not mean she is urging people to marry millionaires or billionaires.

“Hindi po gano’n. Mag-date kayo ng someone na may drive, someone na kayang dalhin ang sarili, 'yung hindi mangungutang at aasa sa inyo. Ayun lang po 'yon. Period,” Mimiyuuuh said.

"Galing ako sa hirap pero nakapag-date ba ako sa walang pera? Hindi po. Maybe because walang nagkakagusto sa akin during that time. But at the same time, alam ko po kasi ang priority ko, priority kong ayusin ang buhay ko, ang family ko, at career ko. Priority kong gawin na buo ang sarili ko bago magdagdag ng ibang tao sa buhay ko," Mimiyuuuh said.

“Pwede n’yo naman i-date ang kahit sinong gusto n’yo ‘yun. Pero ikaw po mismo, hindi mo kayang sustentuhan ang sarili mo, ang mga basic needs and wants mo, magdagdag ka pa ba ng another responsibility?” the vlogger added.

Mimiyuuh stressed that relationship is also a responsibility.
