A driver of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) died after hitting a parked 14-wheeler truck on Mel Lopez Boulevard Tondo, Manila, on Monday, July 8, RH Boy Gonzales reported.
Based on the CCTV captured at Brgy. 39 Zone 3, the Mitsubishi Expander with license plate NGX 5776 was seen speeding along the Mel Lopez Boulevard Northbound lane when it suddenly collided with the trailer truck parked in the said area.

According to the trailer truck's driver, he stopped at the center island at 7:59 a.m. when he suddenly heard a loud crash coming from the back of his truck. Upon checking, he saw an unconscious driver with his vehicle's front destroyed.
It took more than three hours before the remains of the unknown victim were removed.

The driver of the truck is currently under the authority's custody for the corresponding investigation into the tragic accident.
