The Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) removed suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo from the political party amid the multiple complaints she faces over the raided illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in the town.

In a letter on Saturday, June 22, former Senator and NPC chairman Vicente "Tito" Sotto III said it will not tolerate any unlawful acts or any appearance of impropriety by its members.

"I hereby order the removal of mAyor Alice Fuo from the roster of members of the Nationalist People's Coalition," the letter read.

"In view thereof, I will be directing our Secretary General, Sec. Mark Llandro Mendoza to implement the said order and immediately inform Mayor Guo of her removal from the party," it added.

Sotto's order to remove Guo from NPC was in response to the petition of Tarlac Governor Susan Yap filed on June 17.

The first person to suggest Guo's expulsion from the party was Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, a fellow NPC member.

Guo is under preventive suspension ordered by the ombudsman due to complaints for graft and qualified human trafficking, linking her to the conspiracy to commit labor trafficking of around 500 foreign POGO workers.

Guo earlier denied her involvement to the raided POGO in her town and said she is willing to face the complaints being thrown at her to clear her name.
