Miss Touring Artist of the Year, anyone?
A new addition to Olivia Rodrigo’s sash collection is on the way, as Billboard hails her as the Touring Artist of the Year!
On Wednesday, October 9, Billboard announced that the three-time Grammy-winning singer/songwriter will appear at the upcoming “Billboard Live Music Summit and Awards.”
The vampire singer will attend the Superstar Q&A and will be receiving Billboard’s Touring Artist of the Year award on November 14, in Los Angeles.
Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour oozed with great support and admiration for women and girls, as musicians like Chappell Roan and Gracie Abrams were selected as opening acts. Meanwhile, proceeds from the singer-songwriter’s first global tour were allotted for the Fund 4 Good initiative, a charity fund that supports girls’ education, reproductive rights, and advocates for the prevention of gender-based violence.
The music summit and awards will spotlight emerging and well-known artists, honoring their contributions to the music industry. It will also feature conversations on the trends, challenges, and innovations within the sector; allowing dialogue on its development to continue.
“The Live Music Awards, which will honor touring acts, as well as some of the visionary executives behind them, are based on a number of criteria ranging from revenue to tour demand, production, technical ambition, fan engagement, momentum and cultural impact,” Billboard said.
Rodrigo concluded the GUTS World Tour in the Philippines, referring to it as her “most special show and the most meaningful trip.” Proceeds from the Manila leg of her tour were donated to the non-profit organization, Jhpiego Philippines.
Last September, the Filipino-American singer announced that tickets for the Silver Star Show of her GUTS World Tour in the country were priced at Php1,500.
