Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has been ordered by a US jury to pay Paradigm Sports Management (PSM) $5.1 million following a successful civil lawsuit filed by PSM.

According to reports, PSM won the lawsuit against Pacquiao with a 9-3 jury verdict, accusing him of committing a breach of contract by concealing his pre-existing agreement with another promotional company, TGB Promotions.

The lawsuit had caused difficulties for PSM in arranging a fight for Pacquiao.

The monetary damages to be paid to PSM include $1.8 million in damages and $3.3 million as an advance payment given to Pacquiao.

Pacquiao had signed up with PSM, which represents UFC star Conor McGregor, with the aim of arranging a lucrative fight with the latter, but that never materialized.

Instead, Pacquiao ended up signing a different deal to face Errol Spence Jr., but Yordenis Ugas replaced him due to an injury. In 2021, Pacquiao lost to Ugas in his last professional fight.

During the trial, Pacquiao's attorney Bruce Cleeland claimed PSM failed to deliver on their commitments to the boxing star, but PSM questioned Pacquiao's credibility.

Pacquiao later participated in an exhibition fight with Korean video blogger DK Yoo in December of the same year.
