President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. urged police personnel to practice transparency and warned that corrupt officials will be held accountable under his administration.

"The police needs to be disciplined, transparent, and fair," Marcos said during his speech for the 123rd Police Service Anniversary on Thursday.

According to Marcos, the General Affairs Service reported that over 6,000 police officers face administrative charges under the current administration.

"Your mandate and your place in public safety and service is at the core of your duty," he added.

Marcos delivered the message after praising the decrease in crime rates under the leadership of Phlippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Rommel Marbil, who implemented increased presence and patrols in the communities.

The President commended Marbil for his leadership, noting that under his command, the police have taken proactive steps to maintain the gains in peace and order that the administration has worked diligently to achieve.

"Sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas, ang ating mga kapulisan ay maaasahan, malalapitan, at mapagkakatiwalaan," Marcos proudly stated.

He then urged all police personnel to support the leadership of the PNP.

"I trust that you will sustain your current initiatives and take care of the people’s increasing confidence in the PNP’s abilities," he said.

"Remember that your tasks regardless of magnitude or gravity leave an impact on the lives of our people," Marcos added.

Several police personnel received awards for the outstanding services they have rendered.

Interior Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. also attended the said event.
