The government is already looking for ways to fix the pension system of Filipino war veterans to ensure that they will receive the just amount due them, according to President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

He made the remark on Monday during an interview with reporters on the sidelines of the 81st commemoration of the Araw ng Kagitingan held in Bataan.

The chief executive also cited that many war officials are now retiring before the retirable age, hence there is a need to fix the pension system.

He stressed that having a fixed pension system would help ensure the welfare of retired veterans.

Meanwhile, the President made it clear that the aforementioned pension is different from the mulling reform in the pension system for retired military and uniformed personnel (MUP).
