President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed immense pride as Philippine gymnast Carlos Yulo won his second gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Yulo excelled in the men’s vault finals on Sunday, clinching another gold medal in the Summer Games.
"No words can express how proud we are of you, Caloy. You have brought gold to the Philippines not once, but twice," Marcos wrote in a Facebook post on Monday.
"Aming ipinagmamalaki ang tagumpay mong nagniningning! Saludo kami sa iyo!" he added.
On Saturday, Marcos had also congratulated Yulo for his gold medal in the men’s floor exercise, expressing his confidence in Yulo’s continued success.
"We’ve witnessed history as Carlos Yulo clinched the Philippines’ first gold medal in artistic gymnastics at the Paris 2024 Olympics. I am confident that it will not be the last."
Meanwhile, boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas have also guaranteed medals for the nation by reaching the semifinals in their respective events.
