The government has decided to include France in its "red list" countries from December 10 to 15, with a travel ban enforced starting December 13.

According to the Resolution No. 152-A of the Inter-Agency Task Force, inbound travelers from France starting December 13 will not be granted entry to the country regardless of vaccination status.

"Only Filipinos returning to the country via government-initiation repatriation, non-government-initiated repatriation, and Bayanihan Flights may be allowed entry, subject to existing testing and quarantine protocols," read the resolution.

Passengers, however, who are merely transiting through France shall not be considered as coming from the said country if they stayed in the airport the whole time and were not cleared for entry into such country by immigration authorities.

Meanwhile, passengers who came from France who will arrive before December 13 will be required to undergo facility-based 14-day quarantine with an RT-PCR test on the seventh day. The quarantine needs to be completed regardless of the test results, according to the IATF.

Travelers who also arrived before December 10 and currently in quarantine will need to complete their testing and quarantine protocols in effect at the time of their arrival.

France adds to the growing number of countries included in the countries red list after the Omicron variant has been detected.
